| Instructions | Send entire collection sample - Use a 1 gallon, plastic leak-proof container with screw cap. Submit a well mixed timed stool collection. Record total collection time and total weight on test requisition. Use non-clear, opaque container or cover container with foil. Do not use preservatives. Avoid contamination with urine or water. Keep container refrigerated during collection period and during transport to lab. Protect from light. Do not submit specimen in metal paint cans, as processing poses a safety hazard. Specimens received in paint cans will be rejected. Random specimens are not acceptable. | |||
