| Instructions | Glucose Level: Preferred 1 mL (0.5) Plasma Sodium fluoride (gray top) or 1 mL (0.5) Plasma Lithium Heparin PST (Light Green Top) or 1 mL (0.5) Serum Clot Activator SST - Transport/Storage: Refrigerated. Lithium heparin and clot tube must be spun within 2 hours for the integrity of the specimen. Stability: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 72 hours Fluoride preserved plasma samples are stable at room temperature for 24 hours. Hemoglobin A1c w/ Mean Glucose: 1 mL (0.5 mL) Whole Blood EDTA (Lavender Top) Refrigerated Patient does not need to be fasting. Specimen stability: Ambient 8 hours.
