Specimen Collection: Separate serum from cells. Transfer the serum into a LabCorp PP transpak frozen purple tube with screw cap (LabCorp No 49482) Freeze immediately.  Maintain frozen at <=-20C until tested. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, PLEASE SUBMIT SEPARATE FROZEN SPECIMENS FOR EACH TEST REQUESTED.

Clinical Use High concentrations of IgM MAG autoantibodies are found in approximately 50% of patients with peripheral neuropathies accompanied by IgM monoclonal gammopathies. Lower concentrations of MAG IgM autoantibodies can also be found in patients with inflammatory neuropathies, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus and healthy individuals. 
Notes BUHLMANN™ anti-MAG ELISA. This assay measures antibodies to purified human MAG and has been employed in numerous clinical studies.
